Dust And Grace Poem by Wangchat konyak

Dust And Grace

I am neither saint nor monster;
I am but man—a sinner,
A frail soul that falls when tempted.
I claim no righteousness of my own;
I am neither divine nor immortal,
Out of the common dust I was formed.
I claim no purity, no royalty.
I am neither religious nor pagan,
But a wandering soul in despair.
I claim no worthiness of linage;
I am neither philosopher nor sage.
I've sinned at dawn and in the dark;
I claim no uprightness in my thoughts.
I am driven by a wild imagination.
Yet I am no convict, no bandit,
I swear, I have kept the laws,
Though it does not equal spiritual purity,
I am no Angel, I am no Serpent;
I am but man — a sinner,
Saved and justified by divine grace.
