Dwell In Dreams Poem by Pragya Deb Burman

Dwell In Dreams

They say -
Dwell in dreams
But never let the days
Fleet by
In pursuit of the unattainable;
Think deep and well
And shed no tears,
For the Earth already has
An overburdened soul,
Its core being pierced with icicles
Bathed in human blood
And the stinging wounds of regret.

This mysterious world
Where we exist
Has much to offer…
Alas, we have become slaves
To the dictates of Society.
Thus, the quiet philosopher
And the innocent
Become akin to the misfit streams,
Which when overpowered
By the turbulent river
Is forced to obey its bidding;
But I want to be free
And attain the futile,
And the impossible!
Please -
Can I buy a Dream?
