Dying All Alone Poem by Ray Hansell

Dying All Alone

Rating: 5.0

Lying all alone
In a convalescent home
Spends his days and nights
Empty and alone

He's long since left his home
Reality left him long ago
When he looks at faces
There's no one he seems to know

Tonight when the lights went out
He exhaled his last breath
Long ago he always knew
He would be alone in death

Now the sun shines through the curtain
Warms the room where he use to lay
His bed will stand empty
Until another soul comes it's way

Very beautifully penned; the reality of life. Thanks for sharing.

Expressed so beautifully. Many of the aging population are just waiting for this day. Sad but unfortunately reality.
