Eşek Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Eşek

Eşek

-studied back at home
- took courses in college
-did best and got degree
-Electric…
Says Mamet; a Turkish

Here has to survive
-nothing of his past job

-I do not have license
He mentions and goes on:
-I feel like an Eşek
(-meaning a donkey, ass)
(-meaning dumb and worthless…)

-welcome to Canada
We repeat and all laugh!

Deep inside
-and in mind
I cry
See tree uprooted
-worthless its life, branch

I try to comfort
-you are young and smart
-get license in same job…

Stops me:
-have a wife
-and a child
-must feed them
-have expense

Looks like he
-will remain forever
-a redneck
-to earn life is force to
-take loads of dirty work…
