Each Night Poem by Valerie Dohren

Each Night

Each Night

Each night, when all the daytime's glow
has faded into vapoured mist -
when all that stirred has ceased to flow
and heartaches borne no more exist.

Each night, when silence steals your mind
and darkness falls to dim your eyes -
when all is calm with nought to bind
may sweetest slumber be your prize.

And so, in sleep, should dreams display
upon the canvass of your soul
all that which blossomed through the day
such heartaches then to full console.

Each night, be still with peaceful rest
renew the flame that burns within -
may all who sleep be truly blessed
before once more the days begin.
