Each Time I Wish Poem by JAMES T. ADAIR

Each Time I Wish

If all my sadness and heartbreak
I could somehow rinse
I wish I could be someoene's shiny prince
and that the spell could last forever

But life presently holds me in it's dungeon
Darkness blocks the light
Envelopes the night
and whispers to me: Never

Somtimes a sweet rhyme comes into my head
In that moment you hold me and love me
As we dream of what we can be
Simple dreams, don't need to be so clever

But then the darkness wins
and dreams evaporate
Returns me to my solitary state
all hope of love... lonliness does sever
