Echoes Of Angels - Poem by Kathryn Thomas

Echoes of the past
Ringing through my head
Flashes of memories
Playing across my face
Stabs of pain
Running through me
Hatred bouncing through the cave
That was once part of my heart
I feel little love...
All I feel is agony
Agony of people
Who don’t understand
My misery
The knife I hold
Is cold to the touch
The blade looks inviting
As I lay it against my skin
And I feel the closeness of death
I remember the people
Who helped get me through
Those angels who saved me
From uncertain measures
Those angels lifted me up
When my wings were broken
And helped me fly
Those angels are breath-taking
They saved me
Thank you!
