Eclipse Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Eclipse

You looked up at the same moon.
Our eyes beheld it's light.
Though many miles between us,
Our hearts still joined that night.

I knew at that pure moment,
Our sight crossed paths in flight.
I could sense my feelings soaring,
Love for you had gained new heights.

Once again back in your presence
I saw you gaze up toward the stars.
The moon was shining brightly,
And in the distance there was Mars.

In the vastness of this splendor,
My eyes were frozen on only you.
My universe stood in front of me.
My treasure stood there too.

Whenever I see an eclipse,
Or a full moon or blue sky.
I see your vision standing there
As the apple of my eye!
