Eclipse Poem by Elizabeth Hefty

Eclipse

Rating: 5.0

Standing on the edge of a white fogged world
Staring into the abyss.
Chill night air kisses our skin
But all cold melts in your embrace.
Your fire warms me,
Your arms save me,
And everything else just swirls away.
Full moon obscured by mists of dreams.
If I could
I never would
leave this place where time stands still
with you.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is a fragment of a memory. Of a lunar eclipse obscured by fog on a mountain in Lebanon. It was one of those transformative moments in a relationship where something, imperceptible, shifted and it was suddenly - different.
