I Question... Poem by Elizabeth Hefty

I Question...

Rating: 5.0

Beyond this smile my heart is shattered,
A thousand fragments bound by string.
Dreams, like dust, swept by the wind,
Strength now broken by relentless blows,
And hopes dashed on the rocks of despair.
But you see what I cannot;
Light in darkness,
Flames in shadows.
The mirror does not show reality,
We cannot see ourselves;
So do you see me?
Or only a reflection?
