Education For Dependence - Poem by Ngwa Louis
Like hunger stricken souls be
Routine sitting of knowledge mongers
Rows and columns of empty beings
Minds hopefully surrendered
Then comes in the professor
Believed to be a demigod
Once sat he like you for
Ready made wasn't he born
Queer knowledge for civil service
Illicit job hungry graduates
Empty minds for creativity
Thus daily bread the apex'd achievements
With the speed of light
Grows dependency
Unable to absorb the might
Roars the inexplicable ferocity
Once employed, only death retires
Non to sow for others
Ripping the greatest hobby
The live to eat society
Tomorrow leaders to lead in graves
No chance for empty heads
Till schooling systems be restructured
The education for dependence.
Maya Angelou
