Edward VIII's Abdication Speech
I still hear the recording
Of the speech
Broadcast over
And he abdicating the throne
In favour of his brother
So that he may marry
Going against royal nomenclature,
Protocol
An American divorcee,
Mrs.Walllis Simpson
Of his choice.
The Hanuman Family Passing By
I can see the father,
The mother
With two babies
The son
And the daughter
Ogling, standing by,
Asking for and going,
The big ones are undaunted and fearless,
But the babies are shy and coy.
It's Covid Time
Covid Time
Of the mask,
Physical distancing,
The sanitizer,
The lockdown,
The quarantine
And the isolation.
