Eidetic Poem by Nassy Fesharaki

Eidetic

Eidetic

Feeling pain in my sheen
Must be of standing…

Looking down at my boots
Eidetic enters room…

Was child, in school age
But victim, immigrant…

In village had palace,
Washed flood, we fled.

So, the big family
Came to town and settled.

In my mind Eidetic
Makes me see everything.

I can see Esfahan
Easily visualize.

Am wearing rubber boots
Tumor grew in my foot.

Doctor in hospital
Saw flesh, cut it out.

Was rotten by rubber
Can this pain be the same?

Eidetic memory
Is here, reminding
The days of migrating.

Many told my parents:
'Is cute, has manners.'

None of the outsiders
Ever saw, neither heard
The cause of migration,
They observed pretense!
