Embrace Uniqueness Poem by April Humason

Embrace Uniqueness

Answer me, God, when I call Your name,
In my distress, still You remain.
You widen my path where fear once stood,
You give me rest as only You could.

Let hearts not be turned by cruel demand,
Or chased by shadows they don't understand.
You mark the gentle, the pure, the true—
Every soul is known by You.

Let judgment fade, let mercy rise,
Let love be seen through Heaven's eyes.
For those who walk a different way,
Were stitched by God, and He calls them "stay."

Some hearts beat soft, some spirits bright,
Different songs carried into light.
No shame in how their colors shine,
No fault in God's design.

Put peace within their trembling chest,
Let their tired hearts find rest.
Spread Your light upon every face,
And hold them in Your quiet grace.

Let us not sin through angry thought,
Let love be what our lives are taught.
In peace we'll lie and gently sleep,
For You alone our souls do keep.
