Embracing Heartache's Dance Poem by April Humason

Embracing Heartache's Dance

I live where heartache softly sways,
Unsure what dawn or dusk may raise.
Will love arrive in golden hue,
Or tremors shake the world I knew?

My smile quivers, barely still,
Yet hope keeps rising through the chill.
In scattered moments, torn and small,
I gather love through every fall.

He is a heart that aches for light,
Caught between the dark and bright.
Trying to stand, to understand,
A fragile soul in shifting sand.

I dream of days he'll laugh again,
Unshadowed by old fear and pain.
Where gentle peace will find his chest,
And restless thoughts are finally at rest.

So I hold steady through the ache,
With every breath my courage wakes.
Not knowing what the future sends,
But trusting love that never bends.

When worry rises like the tide,
I breathe in hope and set it wide.
For life is more than grief or scars,
It lives in dreams and open hearts.
