Emotions Poem by Rik Bertrand

Emotions

It's what you feel inside,
It's the pain, the love, the hurt
It's forgiveness, its happiness,
It's the hate. It's the sadness

Emotions can tear you apart,
They can peel the love from your soul
Emotions can make feel like a king inside,
Or make you run scared and hide.

Crushed by the weight of what I feel,
Crushed by my own burdens of hell.
Devoured by the hate that is all around,
And smothered by the love deep deep down.

Emotions take their toll, and they never let up
One minute you're crying and the next denying.
All of your life emotions are with you,
There when you're happy and there when you're blue.

Control is the key to survival of the fittest,
You must look into yourself and know what you want.
Emotions will battle you, and you must fight hard,
Surround them and conquer, and stay on your guard.

REB (APRIL 2012) I battle my emotions everyday
