anticipation:
hopes and fears
thought chasing phantoms
heart chasing dreams
root of frustration
foundation of pain
disappointment's beginnings
anxiety's friend;
ye foe of contentment,
be gone and away!

regret:
looking backward
shadows and smoke
guilt seeking respite
mind seeking peace
static reflection
dweller of graves;
Ye thief of the present
be gone and away!

this moment:
eternal
unending and vague
wholeness of passion
unbridled and free
wanting of nothing
nothing to need
vacant of judging
no future to see;
Ye vast everlasting,
embrace me now, stay!
