Empty Nest Poem by ritty patnaik

Empty Nest

Rating: 5.0

when children leave
and start their homes,
empty is the nest,
which bustled with life.

i steel my heart
choke my soul,
but the heart flutters
and tears come blind.

at one time
we loved to be alone
now loneliness haunts,
even when together.

You captured the essence of loss here is this lovely poem of yours. Thanks for sharing. I know that feeling from when my one & only child left home. I don't get lonely anymore though; as I finally accepted her gone from us. I do miss her when I have to leave after a visit though. Jeannie (Spiritsong)
