Encounter With A Reaper Poem by Tanu Koul

Encounter With A Reaper

In the cold winter sight
It was a deep dark night

Everyone was sleeping
But my heart was weeping

A shadow came near to me
Telling me it’s time to flee

His eyes were deep red
As if many souls he fed

Come with me and hurry up
Said the reaper by taking grim’s cup

Death said that my time on earth has ended
I lived and lived my life splendid

Now it’s time for me to leave all
Everything has been decided on God’s call

I begged for some more time
As I have to complete tasks which are prime

Suddenly an angel came
Messenger of God with hope’s flame

Took the reaper with him
Along with all remaining grim

It was a gift from the Almighty
Holy, merciful and mighty

Given me another chance to live
Forget bad and best to give
