Endless Crevice Poem by Jennifer Sollmann

Endless Crevice

Lifting a frozen hand
Barely grasping the edge
The crevice looming before me
Fear effervescing inside
Your words glint with tears
My eyes shirk with fear
Unspoken words
Plummet to the ground
Chased away by eloquence
Captured love again
Sweet manipulating words
Trapped inside
Couldn’t forget
You remind me of it all
I never want to forget again
The sting of your smile
Followed by my forgery
Chase it all away
Memories better left unsaid
You force me to remember
Pain I’d stowed away
The closet door ripped away
Flooded with the face
The endless crevice
Looks comforting
