Enemy Poem by Edwina Reizer

Enemy

The enemy's only alive for you
if you can't find sweet things to do.
You don't have to face him.
You can look the other way.
You don't have to hear him.
You can have the last say.
You don't have to see him.
'Cause you can find a way
to turn your back on what you fear
and move along like it isn't here.

The enemy died a long time ago.
The longer you live
this is what you know.
