Enigma Poem by Tsani Jones

Enigma

If I had a dime
For every time I dreamed
Of your kiss
The world would never go hungry.

If I had a gentle touch
For every time I longed
To feel your embrace
The world would never know pain.

If I had a kind word
For every ghostly voice
Of yours that called my name
The world would never taste war.

But if I did not have this hunger
If I never felt this pain
And the suffering in my war of this love were gone,
Then I could never have you.
