Enough Weight Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Enough Weight

Rating: 5.0

I was really shocked and saddened
The death of two people hardened
My views on divine weapon of death
Which is on our head till the last breath?

Both were dear one and very close
It raised many questions and posed
Its validity and threat in human eyes
Even thought it has wide acceptability

'Will you not come once at my home? '
I turned to see friend's sister waiting to welcome
'You have not dropped in even single time'
I want you to be at my home sometimes

She was diagnosed as last stage cancer patient
Hr chances to remain alive were very much absent
I could see death fear in her vocal request
Even though she tried to remain calm at her best

'I will not come to your till you visit mine'
He virtually threatened me whenever I invited him to dine
He will feel bad when I shall fail to return the visit
He was hale and hearty and fully fit

He went on pilgrimage to holy shrines
Even though he had fever but felt very fine
While on ascent to high hill he developed pain
He was hardly given last time to raise voice and complain

Both departed in few space of time
I could hardly do anything at any time
Their wishes remained unfulfilled
Even though they had earnestly willed

Now on ward I have decided to oblige
Any person with request and seize
The next available opportunity to repay the visit
I now have to give enough weight
