Entering The Cursed Dwarf Mountain Poem by Julianna O'Bar

Entering The Cursed Dwarf Mountain

If you wish to enter here,
You must give a single tear.
Only innocence can pass,
To free us from this spell at last.
Compassion is your only key,
To come within and set us free.
But, be forewarned, you venturous stranger,
Valor will not decrease the danger.
Greed and mischief here must die,
Or else your plans will go awry.
Touch a single piece of gold,
And your story’s end unfolds.
Strike the bell, but do not seize
The treasure and you’ll leave with ease.
Deliver us from this, our curse,
And we’ll assist you in matters worse.

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
This poem is from a book I'm writing about a girl who must overthrow a sorceress queen. In this part of the book she encounters dwarves that stood up against the queen, and she turned them all to stone. When the girl wept for the dwarves, this appeared on the side of the mountain along with an entrance to the mines within.
