Envious Species Poem by Mousumi Bhowmik

Envious Species

There are many species of trees in the hills
Some trees are so jealous, envious
Does not give pleasure or medicine
Fills Poison, fills secret violence in its thorns,
stem and hair
Which inflicts wounds or
gives the gift of intense burning pain.

Some people are just like them.
