Eons ago, in an infinite time,
I almost forgot my celestial home—
where I stood before my Creator
in the garden of eternity,
aglow with light and adorned with jewels.
No barriers between me and my Lord.
Then, slowly, a wall rose
between me and that eternal abode—
for I disregarded my Lord's command,
approaching the forbidden tree of my own accord.
Exiled from the Garden of God,
I lost my beautiful home
and stood thereafter in divine presence alone.
Now, only the silence and darkness remain
of that once vibrant garden—
separated by the thick wall of time
from my true home.
I yearn deeply to break through this barrier,
to find my place in the garden of eternity.
Help me, my Lord, to dissolve this distance,
grant me wings of sound and light
to soar back into Your presence.
I ache to dwell once more
in the radiance of Your countenance,
to be a whirling dervish
circumambulating You—in Your Home.
