Ephemeral Things Poem by Barry Middleton

Ephemeral Things

Rating: 4.5

ephemeral things
can be quite significant

spring brings grief
because it cannot last

a lingering kiss
knows that lips must part

seasons come and go
joy and sadness

tyrants rise and fall
no monument is eternal

life itself is fragile
a star consumes itself

a seeded dandelion
awaits a gentle breeze
