Epic Poetry Poem by Bryan Taplits

Epic Poetry

You blink-and all is past
No longer a destined ahead,
But while the past is a re-run of memory-
Tis so! -
Your future is not yet dead.
The soul on the last day is ever so strong-
As though lifting clangorous weights,
But you don't want to beckon a new world-
Or embrace it too soon-
Or make a visit quite yet-
to the void that we know of as fate.
Yes, you know when there will be no tomorrow-
A subject on which you fear to think twice,
But when that drop off comes near-
there is nothing to fear:
For we're all poets at our final demise.
