Equation Poem by Saydra Basta

Equation

Measure my weight in sweet n low packets
And divide me by the digits on the nutrition label
It's an illness you can count in numbers
It's not food
It's an equation
A nectarine isn't a nectarine
It's value 73
Perhaps if I do the math right
I can balance the scales
100 grams for 100 pounds
And I can finally smash the calculator in my head and burn these books full of tasteless integers
But there are no solutions to this equation, at least not one I can count on
I've yet to write my proof
I'll just keep adding these numbers
Until it finally comes out
To zero
