Erring Humans Poem by Mehta Hasmukh Amathaal

Erring Humans

It is powerful struggle
That is going on in this jungle
Where forceful and mighty one may look like stage actors
The helpless and weak shall remain as mere spectator

Many people have experienced
“Justice can be purchased”
“Judges can be bribed”
“The system can be breached”

Judges are pillars of the constitution
But the justice is denied under constitutional compulsion
Posts are not filled in time and cases run for decades
The fragrance and value of judicial system is faded

The politicians try to influence in matter of appointment
Now they have brought the bill with amendment
The judges shall be decided by committees
There will be rivalry and fat fees

Government houses are occupied illegally
It is openly accepted as favor and bribery
People amass wealth by corrupt means
The judiciary too is not spared like erring humans

Erring Humans
