Escape Theory Poem by Christon Maganga

Escape Theory

Send these hearts sailing
These feelings wailing
I am a mortal I can not be trailing
Behind emotions unfulfilling

They say test yourself and dance in the fire
Fulfill your destiny and search for things up higher
Seek the laughter of centuries and don't tire
But I say I'm a mortal man and the ticker is not a liar

The seeker and the seekee is a story of a beautiful fireball
Lighting up the skies but blasting dust at the shore
Harmonies and melodies of melancholy at the yard soothing the soul
The seeker and the seekee is like a warming heart in snow

So we shall send these hearts sailing
With these feelings wailing
For the time of a mortal man is limited so I can not keep trailing
Behind emotions unfulfilling

A nice effort. In line eight the word you want is 'liar'. Welcome to Poem Hunter!

Well conceived and nicely embellished with poetic rhyme and rhythm. A beautiful creation. Thanks for sharing Christon.
