Esteem Poem by Mario Enrique Rios Muniz Pinot

Esteem

Rating: 5.0

Self-love, how do I do that and why,
Isn't it bad, won't it lead to trouble,
Watch out for lazy still dead body
I esteem myself, because I try to be like straw
on the ground,
Considerate, smart, confident, these
Are my lights, the golden stars by which I guide
My mortal craft, as it moves past mountains
I struggle against the tear down,
Transparent like a pond with
colorful moving snails green and red
Bright green waving seaweeds
Golden fish swiming in the sunlight.

Mario, you have done it again! Topics such as esteem, suicide, vulnurability, mortality, sadness, poverty, etc. are so important and you are writing about them in such a real, sensitive, positive, optimistic way, manner.

I love this poem. This is such an important subject...esteem, self-esteem, self-respect, etc. Nothing is gained by tearing ourselves down or allowing others to tear us down to build themselves up, it does not work that way. Why do we not love ourselves? more? how much is too much? This writing seems better than the poem I wrote! Re-write. I love you Mario, stinker.
