Eternal Absence Poem by *Tony Cemaluk Egbuonu

Eternal Absence

And he bowed out,
After all.

He that wiped my tears,
Fare thee well.

Secret tears of a child,
Abandoned
By the eternal absence
Of a father.

Fare thee well,
As you joined yours —
My sister,
And her sister, your in-law —
To rest.
