Eternal Love Ne'Er Dies Poem by Elizabeth Sheaffer

Eternal Love Ne'Er Dies

Rating: 5.0

The voices around me serve as the background
To my inevitable thoughts of you.
Remembering your smile and the taste of your kiss
As we stood in the fresh morning dew.
My 'happy place' is all that's left
Of a love so strong and true.
These memories are all that I have left
Of the man whom I once knew.
You've gone from here to a place much better,
And someday I will too.
But, for now, I'm stuck here on this Earth
Living life through those memories of you.
You once told me, should you e'er pass on,
To move on and start anew.
But I have my doubts that I'll e'er again find
Such a love as my love was for you.

This is hauntingly lovely and sad. Very well written from start to finish.
