Eternally Blessed Poem by John Lars Zwerenz

Eternally Blessed

Rating: 5.0

The languorous strains of Mozart pass
Over the wavering blades of amber grass,
In the nascent dawn of mahogany,
Crowned with rare gold
And exquisite beauty,
Eternally blessed with the new and the old.

Your rapturous kisses of russet wine
In concert with the rising vine
Welcome the lutescent sunshine
Upon the blissful horizon, wet with dew.
(Last night, my love, I dreamt of you.)
Let us wander where
The vast, marble square
Is enchanted with the scent of your long, raven hair.

For I have seen you dreaming by the slender, silver fountains
In the summery courtyard, ringed with mountains,
Your dusky gaze gleaming
At night in the beaming
Moonlight made for two.
My dear, it is heaven to be next to you.
