Eve Of Celebration Poem by Lamiya Basheer

Eve Of Celebration

Lights were on by the middle of the sky
Everyone blinked their eyes to the sky
The clouds came running and a 'THUD'
They beated their drums, to start it all.

The pot of cold water, bending to pour,
On to the seive, invisible in the air;
Like the champagne fussing and pouring,
Down to the earth, for us to rejoice.

Music of the drops hitting the ground,
Cool breeze like a soothing song blows,
Lazy leaves are dancing pretty in the air,
Chappel bells are adding to them all.

Fresh and cheerful are everyone now;
Drops of water, Ripples in the pool now
Enjoying their birth, with celebrations,
Swimming as far as they could swim.

Drums are beating, music on the air,
My feet is tapping to that rythm of rain,
Everyone is out, rejoicing in the lane,
Me too running, to join them all...

This poem is a pathetic fallacy. I love the way u refer to the cloud, lightening, thunder and then the rain. It depicts an example of a typical rural setting. And a theme of love, togetherness and oneness. This is one of the best poems i have had the pleasure of reading. I enjoyed every bit of it. I could feel the mood, tone and passion u put into this. Thanks for sharing.
