Even if denied

You are right
and I also fight
against such tactics
where poetry rules and basics are compromised
where are we heading today?
we boost the articles and pay
for getting eminence
and kill the genuine poet's chance
readers know about
and freely talk and condemn out
yet, they continue with an evil practice
it is a really great sad day and demise
poets write the derogatory remarks
and start
the controversy by using abusive language
as they fail to manage the popularity
I shall request none
and pay no one
any fees for the prominence
even if I am denied existence as a poet
Hasmukh Mehta

You are absolutely right. The ones holding their pens must realize it's worth. Thanks for this great message. Annapurna Sharma, Nellore, Apr 14,2019
Very rightly said Hasmukh Mehta ji! Pen is considered mightier than the sword but sadly, the writers and poets misuse the pen for wrongly depicting facts and disrespectfully. The poem comes straight from your heart. The last stanza is the most beautiful part of the poem. The last lines of the verse reminded me of a Hindi poem - 'Vardaan Nahin Maangoonga'- by the poet Shivmangal Singh Suman. The last stanza of that poem also contains the same message. Giti Tyagi, Patiala, Apr 13,2019
Rhythms I agree Mr. Mehta. 1 Hide or report this Like · Reply · 1h
