Every Moment - Poem by Javier Zamorano

I need every moment.
Every smile,
every tear.
I need to show I have walked,
crawled and triumphed every year.

I need every moment.
Every hole I have ever slept in,
every rooftop when my fingers touched the sun,
neither was ever second to none.

I need every moment.
Every moment because
without one I lose the other.
Another voice it can be beautifully empty,
or quite ugly
so guard my pride ever watchful sentry.
These moments I know for certain
all that is in me.
