Every Single Day Poem by JJ Evendon

Every Single Day

I longed for you to call
for I've missed you every single day,
ever since the last time I saw you
when you turned and ran away.
Now my the phone rings and I see it's you.
One half wants to answer "hello, how are you"?
The other to close the door and throw the key away.
You were my love, my true and only love.
You treated me unkindly,
leaving me confused and scarred.
Now, no light shines on my darkened days,
ever since I last saw you,
that very last day.
