Everything Beautiful, They Say Poem by Mohammad Younus

Everything Beautiful, They Say

Everything beautiful, they say,
must come to an end.
Though, in truth,
beauty is not an ephemeral thing—
God is beautiful,
and He loves His own beauty.

In truth, beauty yearns
to emerge and reemerge,
shining brighter when a flower dies.
A new flower breathes its first,
bringing forth something fresh.

Let me learn and grow
in Knowledge and Wisdom,
and realize, born beautiful,
there's something more beautiful—
waiting by the sea,
to set me free.

Let me see,
see the beauty of everything—
both new and old.
For beauty never grows old.
