Everything Vanished Poem by manaswini dash

Everything Vanished

I remember
Here there was a mountain
In front of her was flowing a serpentine river
Continuously singing a melodious song.
A boat was also tied near its bank
The young boatman in his leisure time
used to put his legs in the water
and in a depressed mood sang songs for his beloved
Today there is no mountain
Although the river is there
but its bank disappeared
The half broken boat though is there
but covered with a layer of slippery algae
from which it is evident
that the young boatman was not there.

Here on this side
there was a beautiful forest
full of tall, big trees,
competing among each other to go up
climbing their self made ladder by being taller and taller
Bright green leaves were like a beautiful canopy on their top.
I had a feeling that, the proud forest had a special ego
for it's deep darkness and sweet chirping of birds.
Today I could not see a trace of it
Neither there is any tree nor the canopy of leaves
Nothing is visible.
Neither there is chirping of birds nor the tremor of leaves
Nothing is audible.
As if vanished somewhere.

Look,
Here there was always a fair of bright lights and dark shadow
which attracts the fairies to come down from sky
They used to sing and dance here with the music of air
But suddenly everything changed due to a catastrophe
Today neither there is light nor any shadow
The melodious music of air transformed into a melancholic one
for which the fairies were retracted.

Nobody is bothered for this transformation except me.
Like a mad person
I am running from pillar to post for searching
sometimes to the mountain and sometimes to the river
sometimes to the forest and sometimes to the trees
sometimes to the lights and sometimes to the shadows
But could not find anything
Because all of them are vanished.
