Examination Room Poem by Len Webster

Examination Room

The rain pounds. There is a chill
Draughting and dodging through an emergency door
Inside the gym, turned examination room in June.
Rain pelts down on the closetted hundred.
Before, there was ambition -
Now confusion and a rudderless course
Makes these at last aware
Of the need to be prepared.
