Expecting Tomorrow Poem by G. Akanji Olaniyi

Got done with yesterday
Could be a day, two or many away
Yanked off any thought of regret
It is just like a butt of smoked cigarette

Now I deal with today
Everything, to me, is day by day
I am focused and there is a target
Trials and efforts are within the same bracket

I am expecting tomorrow; may be the next day
Optimism must by all means decide to stay
It is my biggest and favorite ticket
I will use it to achieve my target
