Expired Poem by Elizabeth Wheaton

Expired

Maybe I've passed my expire date
Maybe I shouldn't be here
Why don't you through me away, I have expired you know
Why keep what's expired if you can have all that's still good
Why don't you just leave me and take instead what is good
Because when you are here you won't let me leave, you make me stay where
I do not belong. My life has expired do you not understand
Can I be anymore clear
I need to escape and you need to find something good
But do not turn to me for I will not be there
For tonight is the night
I free you from me, find someone to love, someone good
I say goodbye but not forever some day we might meet again
Maybe in heaven or in hell.
