Exquisite Pain - Poem by Millie Fraser
My head is burning with the chaos
My aching bones feel like they will snap,
And my body is crashing and writhing with the noise and the heat.
I love this feeling, this unbearable happiness.
It pumps through my veins and stabs through my heart.
My skin is scorched,
It is a blissful pain that licks over my body like fire.
I cannot lose him, he is my one piece of calm,
A solid structure that is unmoving in this deafening storm.
My world is spinning but his hold keeps me sane,
I am perfectly bruised and safe in his arms.
