Eye Prize Poem by Theresa Ann Moore

Eye Prize

Hats for a royal wedding grace
the attendee's heads… some are standouts
Among the most popular are fascinators
attracting glances and comments all about

There are those with wide brims
that hide expressions on faces
decorated with bows and fabric flowers
Some have creative splashes of laces

Look out, there's one upon which
a bird has landed… seeking a nest
Perhaps this one receives the eye prize
Even the queen was noticeably impressed
