'Eyes' Poem by Cherry Blossom

I wandered lonely as a shadow.
Looming over everyone with dread and angst drawn all over my face.
Everything was engulfed with darkness that one could see the abyss with the naked eye.
But everything changed since I met your coffee-colored eyes that day.
Since then, I saw light again for the first time in months.
The looming darkness that would usually envelop was now replaced with a lambent light, yet anxiety remained for it would never leave no matter how hard I try to push it away.
As the days pass by, I continued to admire you from a distance.
Your coffee-colored eyes mixed perfectly with every scene, may it be the deep yellow hues of the setting sun or the white moonlight of the slumbering moon.
It was in those eyes that I saw the world in another way.
But, it was also in those very eyes that caused me this loneliness and never ending wandering.
Yes! It was those eyes that I loved and it was my eyes that you also loved.
We loved with a love that was far greater than love - I and my Helena;
With a love that the snaring eyes and sharp tongues coveted her and me.

And this was the reason dread loomed over me and angst was drawn all over me and my Helena,
The secret snares and sharp tongues killed my Helena.
Yes! This was the reason dread loomed over me and angst was drawn all over my face.
But our love was far stronger by far the love of those older and wiser than us - and neither the hurtful snaring eyes and sharp tongues can rive me away from my Helena.

For every time I see the deep yellow hues of the setting sun it reminded me of the time we ran under its slanting rays.
For every time the moon beams it would bring me dreams about your coffee-colored eyes that I once loved and watched.
And so, as I saw you again in my memories, I cried a mournful and never-ending remembrance of our vibrant memories.
