Eyes, As First Meeting-Places Poem by james watkin

Eyes, As First Meeting-Places

1/

Apart from what in promise
Roomier, yours bright hang
As unprepared for expands
My world; a future czar's;
Underneath their stars!

Shy living, and a hermit's
Shut away, dim had made
Inconceivable; let alone
To step, as far into
As bold; vast and new!

2/

This day, it will not rise again.
Or in quite the same way
Out-shine through another's sun.
Another's face, down-ray.

Only monotone counterfeits.
Poorer versions toned down.
Sign of the rainbow, garlanded.
Rose-blew for its renown.

For what it changes, hearts to feel
Swollen fruits, soon on fed
Twill be not so much as recalled
As on the mind, painted.
