Eyes Of A Child Poem by Robert Edgar Burns

Eyes Of A Child

The purest form of trust and love
Never will they, deny us hugs.
Joy they bring, to everything,
Craving praise, in all they do,
Harvesting feelings, from me and you!
Little hero’s tug at our heart strings.
Mind’s fully enveloped in fantasies.
They draw us in and tell us how
That we should act
When our character is called.
Such loving creatures
Right from their birth.
No treasure as great
Anywhere else on Earth!
And you can prove this
If you want to try,
The proof lies deep
In each child’s eyes!
Those eyes may be
Green blue or brown.
They may contain
A smile or frown!
They may be sleeping
Or playing wild.
Emotions aren’t hidden
In the eyes of a child!
