Eyes Of The Night Poem by cody byrne

Eyes Of The Night

Rating: 5.0

Eyes of the night
Can I see you?

Lips of the night
Can I taste you?

That which has held me so long
Is no longer there
Will I wait for the sun?
Or go now in search of one so fair

How I long to hold you
And smell you dark brown hair

The time of my arrival may be late
But I promise the amount of my love will be great

Then will I let you see the truth
Of my love for thee
May I open your eyes to let you see?

How long have you stood unbroken?
How long have you been blind?

Will you let me kiss you?
Oh let me open your eyes

How I long to hold you near
And take away your fear

I will take you to a great tree
And from that tree shall we swing
Until the air becomes cold
And then you I will hold

Then shall we count the stars from afar
And look at the moon
And know that soon we won’t be apart

For there will be a new start
As I write this poem of love you will sing like
The angels above

As you read your lines
Perfect are your times
So shall I write this poem?
But no longer a poem will it be
But a love song just for thee.

A song of pain and love
The emotions of a lost love
Now found
No longer blind

But able to see
The truth of the lies around you
Count the stars oh love

Shall we count them together?
Will you help me?

When it’s over we
Will be together
But

Until time makes this true I will
Sit and count the stars with you.

Open your eyes oh love
Open the eyes of night

I wonder how boys of your age write such mature things. So good in language, imagery and those few twists of expressions..........keep going youngman
